PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent identification information recognition processing from being carelessly performed in a battery monitoring device comprising monitoring units for monitoring the respective states of a plurality of batteries and a control unit 3 for communicating with the monitoring units.SOLUTION: A plurality of monitoring units 10 monitor the states of batteries, and a control unit 3 has the monitoring units 10 recognize and determine identification information on themselves, and communicates with the monitoring units 10 using the respective identification information. The monitoring units 10 and the control unit 3 are circularly connected in series with a communication line. Each monitoring unit 10 transmits a signal including information on the determination state of the identification information determined on the basis of information indicating whether the identification information is determined or not included in a signal from a preceding monitoring unit 10 received from the communication line and information indicating whether the identification information on itself is determined or not to a succeeding monitoring unit 10 or the control unit 3. The control unit 3 determines whether or not it has the plurality of monitoring units 10 perform processing to recognize the identification information on the basis of information included in a signal transmitted by the rearmost monitoring unit 10. |
