PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polarization holding optical fiber capable of setting a large mode field diameter while suppressing increase in bend loss and polarization crosstalk even when being bent small.SOLUTION: Polarization holding optical fiber 1 includes: a core 2; a pair of stress providing sections 3; and a clad layer 4. The clad layer 4 includes a first clad layer 11, a second clad layer 12, and a third clad layer 13 laminated on the circumference of the core 2 in order. The stress providing section 3 is provided so as to divide the second clad layer 12 in a circumferential direction. |
