The present invention relates to a coating material for sliding parts of a vehicle with low friction and improved mechanical properties, and a surface coating method using the same which reduces production costs while improving low friction and mechanical properties by adjusting a Cu content of a CrN matrix and the sizes of the crystal grains. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the surface coating method for sliding parts of a vehicle with low friction and improved mechanical properties comprises: a vacuum forming step of converting an inside of a chamber into a vacuum state to minimize an influence of impurities; a heating step of homogenizing a distribution of a temperature of a sample specimen and the inside by heating a specimen to be coated; a buffer layer sputtering step of depositing CrN layer on a surface of the specimen by reacting chromium in a nitrogen atmosphere; and a coating step of depositing a Cr-Cu-N coating layer after placing a specimen deposited with the CrN layer in the chamber. |
