摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device configured to include a laminate of a half-wave retardation layer and a quarter-wave retardation layer directly disposed on a panel screen of an image display panel, in which influences by a retardation drop can be effectively avoided while total thickness can be reduced.SOLUTION: An optical film 13 includes a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 14, a quarter-wave plate 13, and a linearly polarizing plate 15, successively stacked, in which the quarter-wave plate 13 is formed by adhering a half-wave retardation layer 19 that imparts a retardation corresponding to a half wavelength to transmitted light, to a quarter-wave retardation layer 18 that imparts a retardation corresponding to a quarter wavelength to transmitted light, with an adhesive layer 20. The quarter-wave retardation layer 18 is located on the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 14 side; an alignment layer 22 for a quarter-wave retardation layer, which relates to the quarter-wave retardation layer is disposed between the quarter-wave retardation layer 18 and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 14; and the half-wave retardation layer 19 is bonded to the linearly polarizing plate 15 with an adhesive layer 17.
