A multi terminal electric plug unit comprises a plug housing (2) and a socket housing (3) connected by a pivot joint (14) and locked by a lock unit (16) opposite the pivot joint (14). The pivot joint (14) comprises a hook (62) on the plug housing (2) which hooks into a cut away joint holder (28) in the socket housing (3). The lock unit (16) has a ramp (32) for the socket housing (3) to swing over. The hook points to the side of the plug housing (2) and the cut away portion (28) is open on the socket housing side. The plug housing (2) also has an extension (29) opposite the joint (14) projecting towards the socket housing (3). USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple construction. The lock prevents relative movement between plugs and sockets maintaining good connections. Easy to use, inexpensive.
