The seat, esp, vehicle seat, has a seat pad (20) with a front and rear section (34,32). The front section is adjustable in the longitudinal seat direction, relative to the rear section, to adjust the sitting depth of the seat pad. In any depth position of the seat, the two seat sections form a connected continuous seat pad surface (100). The two sections are formed by a common flexible pad (36).
