PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer clad optical fiber excellent in ironing resistance and suppresses excitation loss.SOLUTION: A polymer clad layer 12 having refractive index lower than that of a quartz glass is formed around an optical fiber 11 formed of the quartz glass, and a production coating layer 13 is formed around the polymer clad layer 12, thereby a polymer clad optical fiber 10 is formed. Thickness of the polymer clad layer 12 is 3.0 times or more of thickness of the production coating layer 13. |
