PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an induction type rotary encoder that suppresses occurrence of crosstalk and enables a highly accurate position detection.SOLUTION: An induction detection type rotary encoder comprises: a stator; a rotor that faces the stator; a first transmission coil that is provided in the stator, and has a first inner peripheral side coil part and first outer peripheral side coil part causing a current to flow in the mutually same direction; a second transmission coil that is provided in the stator, and has a second inner peripheral side coil part and second outer peripheral side coil part causing the current to mutually flow in a mutually different direction; first reception coil and second reception coil that are provided in the stator; and first magnetic flux coupling body and second magnetic flux coupling body that are provided in the rotor. The shortest distance between the first inner peripheral side coil part and the second magnetic flux coupling body is shorter than the shortest distance between the first outer peripheral side coil part and the second magnetic flux coupling body, and the shortest distance between the second inner peripheral side coil part and the first magnetic flux coupling body is shorter than the shortest distance between the second outer peripheral side coil part and the first magnetic flux coupling body. |
