摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress such a phenomenon that an optical axis of an optically anisotropic layer is tilted when the optically anisotropic layer is produced by using a liquid crystal compound showing a smectic phase as a material showing a higher level of orderliness.SOLUTION: An optically anisotropic layer is provided, in which a polymerizable composition containing at least one polymerizable rod-like liquid crystal compound showing a smectic phase is fixed in a state showing a smectic phase. An orientation where the refractive index of the optically anisotropic layer reaches the maximum is inclined by 10° or smaller with respect to the plane of the optically anisotropic layer. A production method of the optically anisotropic layer, a laminate and a production method of the laminate, a polarizing plate, a liquid crystal display device and an organic EL display device are also disclosed.
