PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical treatment instrument holding device capable of simultaneously controlling holding of a medical treatment instrument and actuation of a multi-joint body.SOLUTION: A medical treatment instrument holding device 1 comprises: a multi-joint body 300 obtained by connecting a large number of connectors 301; a holding unit 400 for holding a medical treatment instrument 405; an operation unit for performing attaching/detaching operation of the medical treatment instrument 405; a wire 330 which is inserted into each connector 301 and whose one end is fixed to the tip of the multi-joint body 300; and wire operation means 500 connected to the other end of the wire 330. The medical treatment instrument holding device 1 comprises a switch 412 for performing control of the wire operation means 500 granting first tensile force to the wire 330 and releasing the tensile force. The switch 412 controls grant and release of the first tensile force in linkage with the attaching/detaching operation of the medical treatment instrument 405.
