PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sporicidal method in which spore-forming bacteria can be sterilized efficiently and effectively regardless of the kind of bacterial species.SOLUTION: The sporicidal method of one embodiment, in which the following step 1 is completed and then the following step 2 is carried out, comprises: the step 1 of contacting the spore-forming bacteria with dipicolinic acid or the salt thereof under such a condition that the pH is 6 or lower; and the step 2 of sterilizing the spore-forming bacteria. The sporicidal method of the other embodiment, which method has such a period that the following step 1 and the following step 2A are carried out simultaneously, comprises the step 1 of contacting the spore-forming bacteria with the dipicolinic acid or the salt thereof under such a condition that the pH is 6 or lower; and the step 2A of sterilizing the spore-forming bacteria physically. |
