PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an optical beacon to more reliably receive information transmitted by an on-vehicle device by high-speed uplink communication.SOLUTION: A road-vehicle communication system wirelessly communicates between an on-vehicle device (3) and an optical beacon (5) by optical communication, and is able to communicate by switching between low-speed uplink communication and high-speed uplink communication faster than the low-speed uplink communication. The optical beacon (5) detects the reception level of low-speed uplink communication transmitted by the on-vehicle device (3), and transmits identification information indicating that high-speed uplink communication is available to the on-vehicle device (3) when the reception level is equal to or more than a reference value. Then, on receiving the identification information, the on-vehicle device (3) transmits uplink information by the high-speed uplink communication to the optical beacon (5). |
