PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a transfer current flowing in a transfer roller, on the basis of a state of use of the transfer roller, to prevent toner re-transfer, thereby preventing image defect due to a contact mark formed on a transfer belt, without extending preliminary operation time of the transfer belt.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 10 includes a transfer belt 54 which is stretched on a plurality of rollers 56, 58 to circularly move, a transfer roller 60, and a transfer power source 72, and transfers a toner image formed on an image carrier 36 to a recording medium by use of the transfer belt 54. The image forming apparatus 10 includes a transfer current control section 80 which measures a state of use of the transfer belt 54 and controls a transfer current to be supplied to the transfer roller 60, on the basis of the state of use. |
