PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blind nut that has strength against the tension applied to a female screw part when the blind nut is mounted on a member to be mounted.SOLUTION: A blind nut (20) comprises: a female screw part (21) inside of which an internal thread (25) is formed; a hollow tubular part (23) adjacent to the female screw part; and a flange (24) having an opening formed at an end on the opposite side of the female screw part. The blind nut is mounted by inserting the female screw part and the tubular part into a mounting hole (43) of the member (41) to be mounted so that a part of the tubular part is plastically deformed to enlarge the diameter thereof, and clamping the member to be mounted between the deformed enlarged diameter portion (27) and the flange. The female screw part is provided with a first straight portion (31) adjacent to the tubular portion; a first tapered section (32) gradually reducing the outer diameter thereof from the first straight portion; a second straight portion (33) having an outer diameter smaller than that of the first straight portion; a second tapered portion (34) gradually reducing the outer diameter thereof from the first straight portion; and a third straight portion (35) having an outer diameter smaller than that of the second straight portion. |
