Provided is a light emitting device having a configuration that enables reduction of production variation of the characteristics such as luminous intensity. A light emitting device (1) is provided with a wavelength conversion member (10) and a light source (11). When excitation light is incident on the wavelength conversion member (10), the wavelength conversion member (10) emits light which has a wavelength different from that of the excitation light. The light source (11) irradiates the wavelength conversion member (10) with the excitation light. The wavelength conversion member (10) comprises a porous body (12) and quantum dots (14). The quantum dots (14) are supported by the inner surface of the porous body (12). |
