<p>A connector (300) for interconnecting a vertical post (200, 200') and a horizontal rail (400) of a guardrail assembly comprises a base (301), a gate (332), a fastener (345), and a friction member (317). The base (301) includes a rail receiving portion (303) and a post mounting portion (322). The rail receiving portion (303) includes an aperture (312). The gate (332) is pivotally connected to the rail receiving portion (303) and has an open position (350) and a closed position (351). The gate (332) and the rail receiving portion (303) form a bore (342) when the gate (332) is in the closed position (351) and are configured and arranged to receive the horizontal rail (400) within the bore (342). The fastener (345) interconnects the gate (332) and the rail receiving portion (303) in the closed position (351) thereby securing the horizontal rail (400) therein. The friction member (317) extends through the aperture (312).</p> |
