PRODUCTION OF POLYESTER FIBER AT HIGH SPEED

PURPOSE:To stably obtain a fiber package good in the fiber-winding figure in the state extremely reduced in the generation of fuzz and in the breakage of the fiber in the fiber-producing process by impart a specific oiling agent aqueous emulsion to the fiber when the polyester fiber is produced at a high speed. CONSTITUTION:The polyester fiber is produced at a spinning rate of >=3000m/min, while an oiling agent aqueous emulsion (having a surface tension of <=30dyne/cm) containing a monobasic acid ester (preferably octyl palmitate) having an average mol.wt. of 300-500 as a main component, (A) 1-15wt.% of a polyoxyalkylene glycol copolymer having an average mol.wt. of >=1000 (preferably 4-15wt.% of an ethylene oxide-propylene oxide copolymer having an average mol.wt. of >=9000) and (B) 0.1-3wt.% of an organic silicone compound and/or a fluoroalkyl-containing compound is imparted to the fiber.
