The system includes a laser for producing laser rays, an optical fiber for transmitting the produced laser rays, a cylindrical lens for converting the laser ray into a linear ray to be crossed on the welding bead, a welding torch for GMA welding a thin film superposition joint portion, a camera for receiving an optical image to convert it into a video signal, a welding power supplying means, an amplifying means for amplifying the output signal of the welding power supplying means and the resistor, an arc short detecting means for detecting the short point of arc, generating an interrupt signal, an A/D converter for converting the output signal of the amplifying means into a digital signal, a computer for controlling the respective components of the system, a frame grabber for fixing the frame by the control of the computer, a pulse generator for generating a pulse, a stepping motor for moving the position of the welding torch, and a monitor for monitoring arc data.
