The invention relates to a system primarily intended to control/regulate the water flow in a vehicle's coolant system during cold starts. The invention is achieved by providing a body thermostat (14) at the junction point between the body circuit (3) and the engine circuit (2), by providing a leakage flow duct (16) between said engine circuit (2) and body circuit (3) and by the temperature-sensitive element (17), the wax element, of the body thermostat (14) being situated in the liquid flow of the engine circuit (2) upstream of the engine's pump (4) in order to be exposed to engine-tempered coolant and open the body thermostat (14) when the coolant in the engine circuit (2) reaches or exceeds a predetermined temperature level,and thereby ensure warming of the engine (5), and by a certain heat surplus being supplied to the body circuit (3)to ensure defrosting action.
