PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to rapidly return a wire position to a suitable position by rapidly and accurately detecting the change of the wire position caused by the thermal deformation of a guide roller. SOLUTION: The wire position adjusting apparatus adjusts the positions of many wires W so extended between guide rollers 24A and 24B to suitable positions. Distance sensors 81A, 82A are provided at both right and left sides of the wire W, and the wire interval and the relative displacement of the entire wire to a work 28 are directly detected by the sensors 81A, 82A. The rollers 24A, 24B are so adjusted as to suitably hold the wire interval and the work 28 or the rollers 24A, 24B are so axially moved as to reduce the relative displacement. |
