PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a soft finishing agent containing each specific quaternary ammonium compound and anionic surfactant, capable of imparting an excellent flexibility to a fiber such as a cotton. SOLUTION: This soft finishing agent contains (A) quaternary ammonium compound expressed by formula I [A is an aliphatic residue formed by removing (m+n) hydroxyl groups from an aliphatic polyol having (p) hydroxyl groups; R<1> is a 1-27C alkyl or an alkenyl; R<2> is H or a 1-4C alkyl; R<3> , R<4> are each a 1-28C alkyl, alkenyl, etc.; X is a halogen] having one or more 10-28C long chain hydrophobic groups in the molecule and two or more quaternary ammonium cationic groups such as a compound expressed by formula II and (B) an anionic surfactant having a 10-28C alkyl or an alkenyl group. Further, the blending ratio of the components A to B is (the equivalent of cationic groups in the component A)/(the equivalent of anionic groups in the component B) is preferably in the range of (1/0.7)-(1/0.2). |
