Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for automatically inputting data for each reference search item. According to the present invention, the apparatus and method comprises the following steps of: pre-storing a plurality of reference technology patterns for each type of data of dissertations; searching the reference technology patterns matched with a technology pattern of data elements constituting a reference; searching from the reference technology patterns, matched with a type of relevant data and stored, according to a type of the data of the dissertation; analyzing syntax of the data elements constituting a relevant reference; parsing the data elements according to each constituent item; and input the data elements for each constituent item in a content input box for each search item with respect to the reference automatically.
