Disclosed is a first type cache (DANE) arranged between a client terminal and at least one server. The first type cache (DANE) is configured to receive a request for a first representation of a segment of multimedia content available for multiple representations from the client terminal, and includes a module (2) configured to send a response to the client terminal. The module (2) is configured to send, to the client terminal, a response including: one alternative representation of the segment cached by the first type cache (DANE); first additional information preventing a second type of cache, which is arranged between the first type cache (DANE) and the client terminal, from caching the alternative representation of the response; and second additional information identifying the alternative representation of the response to allow an additional first type cache to cache the alternative representation. |
