<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of a decomposition residue and efficiently obtain an oily matter reusable as a resource by thermally decomposing a polycarbonate resin in the presence of specified amounts of an inorganic compound and a vinyl-polymerization-type plastic which melts at the thermal decomposition point of the polycarbonate resin or lower. SOLUTION: Based on 100 pts.wt. polycarbonate resin, thermal decomposition is conducted in the presence of at least 0.5 pt.wt. inorganic compound selected from compounds of sodium, aluminum, calcium, titanium, chromium, manganese, iron, cobalt, copper, zinc, tin, and barium and at least 10 pts.wt. vinyl- polymerization-type plastic. Graphitization is prevented by adding sodium hydrogencarbonate and/or its hydrate; and decomposition is accelerated by irradiating a polycarbonate resin in the molten state before decomposition to ultraviolet rays having wavelengths of 200-400 nm.</p> |
