Disclosed are an alarm sound playing system and a method for playing alarm sound. The alarm sound playing system includes: an IP camera unit for transmitting an image, photographed in real time, to a terminal device or a server; and the terminal device, connected to the IP camera unit through wired or wireless communications or a network, for receiving real-time photographing information from the IP camera unit, and transmitting an alarming sound request signal to the IP camera unit according to a received result. The IP camera unit controls the playing of the alarm sound, stored in a storage unit, to be played if the wired or wireless communications with the terminal or the connection to the network is terminated. Therefore, the alarm sound playing system can play the alarm sound even in any contingency such as power failure or disconnection of the network. Consequently, the alarm sound playing system can warn an intruder strongly and can continuously notify a person in a dangerous situation of danger. |
