PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quick and safe mechanism of update including backup taking advantage of an effect of the difference update of firmware since all firmware is backed up for recovery when the update of firmware fails in the case of updating the firmware, and all the firmware is necessarily backed up even when the number of modules to be backed up is small, requiring an extremely long time in a conventional technology.SOLUTION: The backup method includes: update object firmware specification means for specifying a module as an update object; development information reference means for referencing module development information included in the module specified by the update object firmware specification means; a development destination specification means for specifying the development destination of the module in the development information reference means; difference backup means for backing up only the development destination portion; and update execution means for executing update. |
