PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a thermoelectric performance of a thermoelectric conversion material.SOLUTION: In the thermoelectric conversion material including a semiconductor silicon compound that is a mother material 10, and particles formed from Si as a dispersant material 20 dispersed in the mother material 10, the quantity of the dispersant material is made equal to or less than a quantity capable of modulating the number of carriers in the mother material. Thus, since the mother material is the semiconductor silicon compound that is phase-separated from Si of the dispersant material, even if the quantity of Si increases, a silicon compound different from the mother material can be prevented from being generated. Then, carriers caused by a crystal defect of the mother material can be generated by the surplus Si. Further, if the Si of the dispersant material is added as much as or more than the quantity capable of modulating the number of carriers in the mother material, the thermoelectric performance may be reduced, but by suppressing the quantity of Si to be added equal to or less than the quantity capable of modulating the number of carriers in the mother material, the thermoelectric performance can be improved. |
