PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base material for an IC card having higher convenience, and further to provide a fitting IC card.SOLUTION: A base material 2 for an IC card comprises: a rectangular-shaped main body; a depressed portion 4 mounted with an IC card 5 comprising an IC chip and a contact pattern 6; and groove portions 8A through C provided across the depressed portion 4 and a side of the main body. The groove portions 8A through C are provided on a trajectory of a contact terminal when the base material 2 for the IC card is inserted into a card reader/writer provided with the contact terminal brought into contact with the contact pattern 6 in a slot. |
