PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute suitable control upon an occurrence of abnormality in a high pressure pump or a driving system thereof.SOLUTION: A high pressure pump 20 includes a plunger 22 capable of varying the volume of a pressurization chamber 25, and a control valve 30 supplying and blocking fuel to the pressurization chamber 25 in accordance with displacement of a first valve element 34. An ECU 50 executes normal control for displacing the first valve element 34 to a valve close position by supplying a prescribed high electric power to a coil 33, and noise reduction control for displacing the first valve element 34 to a valve close position while reducing operation noise generated in association with displacement of the first valve element 34 by reducing power supply to the coil 33 to lower power than the normal time. The ECU 50 stops the noise reduction control and switches to the normal control when an occurrence of abnormality in a high pressure pump 20 or a driving system thereof is detected during execution of the noise reduction control.
