PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire for heavy load that can improve traction performance and rolling resistance and suppress noise.SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire for a heavy load has a plurality of blocks 19 that are partitioned between main grooves 3 by providing at least two main grooves 3 extending continuously in zigzag in a tire circumferential direction and a plurality of lateral grooves 15 communicated through the main grooves 3 in a tread part 2. Groove edges 6 near the blocks 19 of main grooves 3 include alternately an inner apex part 6a protruding toward the block 19 and an outer apex part 6b protruding toward the opposite side of the block 19. The lateral grooves 15 connect the inner apex parts 6a and incline at angles α of 10-20 degrees relative to a tire shaft direction. Step faces S of the blocks 19 are formed in an approximately hexagonal shape, and ratios W2/W1 of a minimum width W2 in the tire shaft direction to a maximum width W1 in the tire shaft direction in the step faces S of the blocks 19 are in a range of 0.85-0.95. |
