PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an object different in a characteristic of a surface to be mutually identified even when a shape is similar.SOLUTION: An object recognition method is configured to: extract a range having the light point having a mutually similar characteristic distributed as a candidate area having a possibility indicative of a first object from an image of the first object having a pattern including a plurality of light points projected; obtain a first vector indicative of a characteristic of the plurality of light points included in the candidate area; in a preliminarily registered second vector indicative of a characteristic of each of the plurality of light points included in the pattern projected on a plurality of second objects having a category of an object known, identify the second vector more similar to the first vector of the candidate area than other second vectors; and recognize a second object associated with the identified second vector as a category of the first object. |
