PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a transparent cover and a liquid crystal display panel to be bonded without generating visible bubbles by suppressing bubbles from occurring due to gas generated by an adhesive agent at the time of bonding in a vacuum tank.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a display device bonds a first member of the display and a second member of the display device together by: applying an adhesive agent supplied from a supply unit on the surface of the first member of the display device; staring evacuating inside of a vacuum vessel in a state where the first member of the display device is held and the second member of the display device is placed on a placing table; bringing the held first member of the display device to come closer to the second member of the display device after a predetermined lapse of time; and in this state, releasing the first member of the display device from the held state to bring the inside of the vacuum vessel to return to an atmospheric pressure. The adhesive agent, which is supplied from the supply unit for supplying the adhesive agent and is applied on the surface of the first member of the display device, is an adhesive agent that has been subjected to degassing treatment such that the amount of gas generated in the supply unit is equal to or smaller than a preset amount.
