PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the probability of ensuring output power necessary to satisfy vehicle required power in a hybrid electric vehicle including a CD mode and a CS mode as running modes and configured to be able to execute a revolving speed increase control.SOLUTION: A vehicle comprises: an engine; a battery; a second motor-generator generating a driving force using an electric power of the battery; and an ECU controlling the engine and the second motor-generator. The ECU is configured to execute a revolving speed increase control to control an engine revolving speed Ne to increase an engine sound pressure in proportion to an increase in a velocity V of the vehicle. The ECU limits the execution of the revolving speed increase control in a CD mode for consuming a battery SOC, as compared with a CS mode for sustaining the SOC within a predetermined range. |
