摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable magnification optical system and an imaging apparatus having the same, each of which materializes superior optical performance over a range from visible rays to near infrared rays.SOLUTION: The variable magnification optical system comprises, in order from the object side, a first lens group G1 having negative refractive power, a diaphragm St, and a second lens group G2 having positive refractive power. The first lens group G1 comprises, in order from the object side, a negative meniscus lens L11, a negative lens L12, and a cemented lens C11 comprising a biconcave lens L13 and a positive lens L14 cemented together in the described order from the object side. The second lens group G2 comprises, in order from the object side, a positive lens L21 which has at least one aspherical surface and of which an object-side surface is convex and just two cemented lenses, each comprising a negative lens and a positive lens cemented together in the described order from the object side, located on the image side from the positive lens L21. The variable magnification optical system satisfies the following conditional expressions (1 ), (2): -1.0<Rf11/Rf12<0.7 ...(1), 55.0<&ngr;dave1 ...(2).
