PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve acceleration feel and drivability of a vehicle mounting therein a continuously variable transmission.SOLUTION: A gearshift ECU of a CVT increases an input revolving speed Nin in response to kickdown operation by a vehicle driver to downshift a transmission gear ratio γ stepwise, and then acquires an up gradient &Dgr;Nkd in response to a present accelerator opening Acc and a present vehicle velocity range SRp from among up gradients &Dgr;Nkd defined for a plurality of vehicle velocity ranges SR for acceleration openings, respectively (step S822); and sets a target input revolving speed Nin* so that the input revolving speed Nin increases with the up gradient &Dgr;Nkd in response to the present acceleration opening Acc and the present vehicle velocity SRp before the input revolving speed Nin reaches a kickdown-finish revolving speed Nfin (step S828). |
