PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cassette type seal which improves a use characteristic at a low temperature.SOLUTION: A cassette type seal 1 comprises an inner ring 2 supported to a rotary mechanical element 4, and an outer ring 7 having a seal main body 11 which is supported to a box body 9 to be sealed, and formed of an elastomer material. A plurality of seal lips are formed of the seal main body 11. In a plurality of the seal lips, a first seal lip 12 liquid-tightly abuts on an external periphery of a cylindrical portion 3 of the inner ring 2, a second seal lip 13 protrudes to an axial direction from a flange 10 of the outer ring 7 in a radial direction, and extends to a direction of a side part of a coated part 6 of the inner ring 2, and the side part faces the cylindrical portion 3. A third seal lip 14 protrudes to the axial direction while straddling a flange 10 in the radial direction, and protrudes while straddling the coated part 6 at least at one portion on an external periphery. |
