PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely reproduce a program related to a program being reproduced in a video recording device which is configured to automatically erase recorded program data in accordance with a recordable capacity.SOLUTION: The video recording device includes: video recording means by which, when a recordable capacity in a first region of an auxiliary storage device becomes equal to or less than a threshold, oldest recorded program data are erased and new program data are recorded; character information acquisition means for acquiring character information indicating a broadcasting date included in program data of a first program to be reproduced by reproduction means under the condition that there is operation input via an input section; retrieval means for retrieving program data of a second program recorded on the broadcasting date indicated by the acquired character information from among program data being recorded in the auxiliary storage device; and recording control means by which, in the case where the retrieved program data of the second program are being recorded in a second region, the program data of the second program are recorded in the second region that is different from the first region. |
