PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detachably attach a toner recovery unit to a unit for toner discharge and to properly recover toner removed from the surface of an image holding member to the toner recovery unit from the unit for toner discharge.SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus in which a toner recovery unit 40 is detachably attached to a unit for toner discharge 30, a toner discharge port 31 provided in the unit for toner discharge and a toner recovery port 44 provided in the toner recovery unit are communicated with each other, and the toner removed from the surface of an image holding member 17 is recovered to the toner recovery unit from the unit for toner discharge, a seal member 50 having an opening 51 corresponding to the toner recovery port is attached to the toner recovery unit. The seal member comprises an elastic member 52 attached to the peripheral part of the toner recovery port and a sheet member 53 attached to cover the surface of the elastic member in such a state that sliding against the surface of the elastic member is possible. |
