PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer that is able to make non-uniform density, due to displacement of a landing droplet, inconspicuous.SOLUTION: When a print job including an image is received, a control section exerts control such that: color inks are caused to be discharged from ink jet heads 21C, 21K, 21M, and 21Y, thereby printing a solid image on paper PA; then, solid image is read from the printed image by use of image reading means; from the read solid image, it is determined whether non-uniform density of print has arisen regularly or irregularly; color inks are discharged for the image from the ink jet heads 21C, 21K, 21M, and 21Y and, in accordance with the result of the determination on density regularity or irregularity, a quantity of clear ink and an area of an image where the clear ink is to be discharged are determined; and the determined quantity of clear ink is discharged from an ink jet head 21L to the area where it is to be discharged. |
