PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine which decreases the temperature difference between the combustion gas temperature and the combustion chamber wall surface temperature to reduce cooling loss.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine has a thermal insulation structure including an alumite film 30 which is based on aluminum and formed on the surface of constituent parts of a combustion chamber and a layer 32 of a pore-sealing material covering the alumite film, and the layer 32 of the pore-sealing material contains a material higher in emissivity than the pore-sealing material. |
