PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for automatically cleaning an optical lens mounted on a vehicle by spraying cleaning liquid in order to remove any type of dirt from the lens so that a clear image or optical signal can be captured anytime.SOLUTION: An air pump 5 including a variable volume compression chamber 16 is provided for compressing the air volume, and a cleaning liquid conduit tube 12 is communicated to a liquid nozzle 9 and the air pump 5 so that the air pump 5 can be actuated by the flow of the compressed cleaning liquid 21. The same flow of the compressed cleaning liquid 21 is used for cleaning an optical surface 3, and for blowing down droplets if there are any in an optical lens 3 by actuating the air pump 5 to generate an air jet flow. |
