PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of reducing errors in a job of adjusting positions of print heads.SOLUTION: A printer comprises: a housing 10 where first patterns 13 indicating positions where a document is placed are formed around a glass table 12; a carriage 31 having one or more print heads; a scanner function section 30 which optically reads an image represented on the document; a pattern print section 41, by using a both-surface printing section capable of printing on both of first and second surfaces of the document, which prints a second pattern for detecting a print position of the one or more print heads on the first surface of the document, and prints third patterns 61a, 61b and 61c similar to the first pattern 13 at a position close to the first pattern 13 on the second surface of the document when the document is arranged at an inspection position of the glass table 12; and an adjustment section 42 which scans the second pattern printed on the document placed on the glass table 12 by using the scanner function section 30 and adjusts the print position of the one or more print heads by using scan results. |
