PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain breakage of a frictional agitation joint tool.SOLUTION: A joint device body having a main spindle 11 for rotatingly driving a frictional agitation joint tool 9, is movably provided along a slit-like opening 5 on the lower side of work fixing surface plates 4a and 4b having the slit-like opening 5 along a joint line 3 of works 2a and 2b. The frictional agitation joint tool 9 comprises a tip side near shoulder 21, a probe 20, a probe shaft 22, a diametrical expansive part 23 and a main spindle installing part 24 in order. Both inside wall parts of the slit-like opening 5 are provided with a shoulder noncontact surface pressing part 25 of projecting to the inside up to a position in close vicinity to the probe shaft 22. The works 2a and 2b are frictionally agitated-joined by the probe 20 immersed in a position of a joint line 3 in a state of pressing both surfaces of the works 2a and 2b by the shoulder 21 and the shoulder noncontact surface pressing part 25. In this case, the frictional agitation joint tool 9 restrains stress concentration by being formed as a constitution having no step difference up to a main spindle installing part 24 from the probe 20. |
