PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter perforator of a rod-shaped smoking article and a perforation method in which the adhesion of firing powder dust to a smoking article is reduced and the quality of the smoking article is not adversely affected.SOLUTION: A filter perforator of the present invention for carrying out a perforation method includes: a transfer drum (12) for transferring a double filter cigarette (DFC) as a rod-like smoking article; a laser irradiator (14) for forming perforation lines on an outer circumferential surface of the double filter in the double filter cigarette (DFC), when the double filter cigarette (DFC) is positioned in the perforation position (PP) of this transfer drum (12); and a suction hood (24) arranged so as to cover the outer circumference of the transfer drum (12), and sucking air-borne dust containing combustion products generated by the formation of the perforation lines. |
