PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor which efficiently cools stator cores and exciting coils while inhibiting magnetic resistance between the stator cores and permanent magnets of a rotor.SOLUTION: An electric motor includes: a rotor 10 having multiple permanent magnets 12 and a rotary support member 14 supporting the permanent magnets 12; a rotor support member 20; and a stator 30. The stator 30 includes: multiple stator cores 32; stator core support members 34, 20; exciting coils 36 disposed around the respective stator cores 32; and a division wall formation member 40 which forms a division wall enclosing a sealed space for housing the stator cores 32 and the exciting coils 36. The stator cores 32 respectively have facing surfaces 33 which may face the permanent magnets 12 and adhere to the division wall formation member 40 with the facing surfaces 33 exposed to the permanent magnets 12 to form the division wall with the division wall formation member 40. |
