PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal and a transmission path selecting method that can estimate communication quality and usable band of a network as a single body even under a condition that a partner terminal as a communication destination is absent, thereby selecting an optimum communication transmission path.SOLUTION: A communication terminal is connectable to plural base stations by switching plural communication modes, and has a communication quality measuring unit for measuring communication quality of each of the base stations adaptable to the plural communication modes, a packet generator for generating a predetermined band estimating packet on the basis of the communication quality of each base station, an address converter for converting a transmission destination address of the band estimating packet to a self-address of a communication terminal, a transmitter for transmitting the band estimating packet whose transmission destination address is converted, a receiver for receiving the band estimating packet which is re-directed according to the conversion of the transmission address of the band estimating packet to the self address, and a transmission path selecting unit for selecting a transmission path using a communication mode corresponding to any base station on the basis of the usable band corresponding to the band estimating packet received for each base station. |
