PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an elastic member attached to a document pressing plate from being damaged in a document pressing device.SOLUTION: The document pressing device includes: a document pressing cover 162 which is supported in one end of a document reading part 5 in a freely rotatable manner and can be freely opened/closed; an elastic member 165 fixed on a bottom face of the document pressing cover 162; a pair of ribs 162a which is protrusively provided at positions to hold the elastic member 165 from both sides therebetween on the bottom face of the document pressing cover 162 and of which the protrusion length is shorter than thickness of the elastic member 165; a film 166 which has flexibility and of which both the ends is hooked on the pair of ribs 162a while covering a bottom face of the elastic member 165; and a document pressing plate 164 which is mounted by the film 166 and a hook-and-loop fastener 167 and presses a document onto contact glass 161 in the state where a relative pressure from the contact glass 161 is absorbed by the elastic member 165 when contacting to the document pressing cover 162. |
