PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating the degree of crosslinking of a polyethylene resin, capable of safely and simply calculating the degree of crosslinking of the polyethylene resin.SOLUTION: The method for evaluating the degree of crosslinking of a polyethylene crosslinked by a radiation comprises: preparing a plurality of polyethylene resin samples; performing a gel fraction measurement (JIS C 3005:2000 4.25), a DMA measurement and a DSC measurement of each sample including an unirradiated sample; preparing a relation between the gel fraction obtained by the measurement and a numerical value A (A=a 160°C storage modulus (DMA)/an amount (DSC) of heat of fusion) as a calibration curve; measuring only the storage modulus (DMA) and amount (DSC) of heat of fusion of a polyethylene resin unknown in a dose and a degree of cross linking; calculating a numerical value A being the ratio thereof; calculating a gel fraction from the calibration curve; and safely and simply evaluating the degree of crosslinking of the polyethylene resin. |
