PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the relative positions of images formed on an intermediate transfer belt are shifted when the time interval between the timing when a high pressure is started to be applied and the timing when a photoreceptor is started to be exposed is reduced.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: image forming parts 101a and 101b; an intermediate transfer belt 5; transfer rollers 30a and 30b; a pattern detection sensor 7 for measuring detection patterns 990a and 990b; and a control part 19 that determines first correction values 161a to 161c on the basis of the measurement results of the pattern detection sensor 7, corrects, when an image of a first page is formed, the image forming timing of the image forming part 101b on the basis of the first correction values 161a to 161c and second correction values 162a to 162c, and corrects, when images of a second and following pages are formed, the image forming timing of the image forming part 101b on the basis of the first correction values 161a to 161c without the second correction values 162a to 162c. |
