PURPOSE: A TFT LCD(Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to form sources and drains with a metal layer of a dual structure for keeping the adhesion with a passivation layer while reducing the contact resistance with pixel electrodes. CONSTITUTION: A thin film transistor liquid crystal display device includes gate electrodes positioned at a part of a glass substrate(1), a gate insulating film(3) formed on the entire surface of the gate electrodes and the glass substrate, amorphous silicon active areas(4) positioned on and around the gate insulating film facing the gate electrodes, sources(5) and drains(6) formed on right and left sides of the active areas with a predetermined distance, channel areas formed between the sources and drains by etching the active areas by a predetermined depth, a passivation layer(7) positioned on the entire surface, and pixel electrodes formed on the passivation layer facing side parts of the drains, wherein the sources and drains are in a dual structure of a first metal layer of higher contact resistance with respect to the pixel electrodes and a second metal layer of high adhesive property with respect to the passivation layer.
